Irish Moss seaweed (Chondrus crispus) is native to areas where fresh water and salt water meet. (William LeSassier).
Containing mucilage, polysaccharides and minerals Irish moss seaweed is ideal to moisten, nourish, mineralise and soothe tissue.
Specifically indicated in conditions where respiration, digestion, bladder and kidneys need support.
“You will doubtless remember that we told you that Irish moss contained the organic salts of potassium phosphate (brain and nerve food), calcium phosphate (bone food), magnesium phosphate (found in every cell in the body), together with chlorides, sulfates, iodides, and bromides, all beautifully balanced in ideal proportions which could never be equaled by any trituration process man could invent,” Dr. Edward Shook (1978,29).
In a small saucepan add 5gms of rinsed Irish moss. Just cover with water and simmer on a low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Leave to cool or eat warm drizzled with honey.
